Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a skilled Patient Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Access Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient experiences from initial contact to appointment scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for elective and urgent appointments, ensuring timely and efficient access to care.
- Collaborate with Prior Authorization staff to verify necessary authorizations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Pre-register patients by collecting demographic and insurance information, facilitating a smooth registration process for both outpatient and inpatient services.
- Notify patients of pertinent visit information, including pre-appointment instructions and check-in times, to minimize delays and ensure a positive experience.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of prior registration/scheduling experience, with a strong background in medical terminology and 3rd party payer experience preferred.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of medical terminology and ability to apply critical thinking skills for problem resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $25.47 per hour.
