Overview

The American Heart Association is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to join our team in Northern New Jersey. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for achieving revenue goals and developing strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to achieve revenue goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners and donors
  • Recruit and lead executive volunteer leadership and volunteer committees
  • Manage event logistics and implementation
  • Work with Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in fundraising, outside sales, or a non-profit organization in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of community organizations, sales, fundraising, and marketing principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 75% in your local market
  • Basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks
