Position Overview:

The Global Revenue Recognition Organization (GRRO) is seeking a dynamic professional with over 8 years of expertise in Finance and Accounting. As a Lead Revenue Accounting Specialist, you will collaborate with various finance teams to deliver technical accounting insights and support on revenue-related transactions and accounting matters. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing deal support and reviewing contracts while offering revenue-related guidance during the pre-contract phase.
  • Engaging actively with stakeholders, including Sales, Business Finance Teams, and Legal, to ensure revenue recognition issues are addressed during the contracting process.
  • Independently concluding deal reviews with minimal supervision.
  • Delivering ongoing training and support to finance and business teams, while mentoring members of the GRRO team.
  • Assisting internal and external auditors and ensuring compliance with HPE policies and US GAAP accounting standards across our operations.
As a subject matter expert in revenue recognition, you will be responsible for providing definitive guidance in HPE's revenue documentation for finance teams to implement effectively. Additional expectations include:
  • Consulting in real-time during deal negotiations and customer solution development to ensure compliance with revenue recognition rules.
  • Communicating and presenting accounting policy conclusions clearly.
  • Ensuring adherence to leasing, software, and service revenue recognition regulations.
  • Resolving complex business and process challenges related to intricate revenue recognition models.
  • Researching and interpreting U.S. GAAP standards to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for new, material, or complex transactions.
  • Driving compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies.
Success in this role hinges on a robust understanding of US GAAP requirements, exceptional writing abilities, and a keen interest in HPE's business operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of HPE while expanding your knowledge of US GAAP across various domains.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role; experience in a Big Four public accounting firm is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the technology sector and international corporations is preferred.
  • Experience in business and compliance is a plus.
  • This role involves reviewing contracts within the HPC/AI sector; US Citizenship is required.
Skills and Expertise:
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles under US GAAP, with a preference for technical knowledge in Revenue recognition and Leases.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Ability to communicate the implications of policy applications for new and evolving business models.
  • Capability to collaborate with operational and finance teams at all levels, exercising sound judgment in policy application.
  • Experience in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of the services and technology sectors within a large multinational corporate framework.
  • Excellent program management, communication, and presentation skills tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong resource management, planning, consulting, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in drafting technical accounting documentation and memos.
  • Exceptional business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in business applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP).
