Position Title: Purchasing Assistant

Role Summary: We are in search of a meticulous and driven Purchasing Assistant to contribute to our procurement operations. This role is essential in aiding the purchasing team with various tasks, including vendor relations, product analysis, inventory oversight, and order management. Core Responsibilities:

  1. Support the purchasing team in identifying and evaluating new products, market trends, and supplier options.
  2. Keep precise records of purchase orders, invoices, and communications with suppliers.
  3. Engage with suppliers to guarantee prompt delivery of products and address any issues or discrepancies.
  4. Track inventory levels and assist in predicting demand to ensure optimal stock availability.
  5. Work alongside the merchandising department to develop product assortments and layout plans.
  6. Help analyze sales figures, market dynamics, and competitor strategies to inform purchasing decisions.
  7. Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and presentations related to procurement and inventory control.
  8. Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers to secure cost-effective purchases.
  9. Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional initiatives and pricing strategies.
  10. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the retail sector, customer preferences, and product categories.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in retail, procurement, or merchandising is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities for effective vendor and team collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data management and reporting.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of retail mathematics and inventory management principles is a plus.
  • Open to learning and adapting to evolving business needs.
