Job Title: Signal Processing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at the University of Washington's Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Signal Processing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing complex algorithms for signal processing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop signal processing algorithms for real-time systems
  • Implement and optimize algorithms in Matlab and C/C++
  • Work with senior engineers to develop complex software for engineering research programs
  • Convert algorithms to run in real-time on dedicated hardware, including GPUs
  • Support new standalone applications and toolsets as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or similar engineering field
  • At least three years of experience in signal processing and software development
  • Excellent computer skills, experience in Linux, C/C++, and MATLAB
  • Understanding of software development process and Agile methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current possession of an active Department of Defense security clearance
  • Previous experience in the application of signal processing techniques to real-time systems
  • User interface development experience, including JavaFX
  • Experience developing interfaces using RMI
  • C/C++ experience
  • Python experience
  • Experience with system and application performance monitoring tools
  • Linux systems operation experience
  • Familiarity with Linux network configuration
