Job Description

As a Branch Manager at Airgas, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability by maintaining a high standard of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in the management of branch and fleet resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Airgas/Red-D-Arc's health and safety guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at the branch, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure a high Fleet Available percentage and high quality standard for all rental assets.
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of rental assets, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring parts are organized and easily accessible.
  • Promote used equipment sales and ensure effective inventory management.
  • Perform regular inventory audits at all applicable branches to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all branch equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new branch staff, ensuring a smooth transition and effective onboarding process.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee fleet transfers in and out of the branch, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Verify and resolve FA discrepancies during fleet inventory audits.
  • Ensure branches meet safety audit requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Properly handle and track all rental assets assigned to the branch, ensuring accurate inventory management.
  • Approve all branch purchase orders and invoices, minimizing expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely A/R collections and proper cash management, maintaining a healthy cash flow.
  • Complete annual reviews in a thorough and timely manner, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for underperforming staff, providing guidance and support for improvement.
  • Ensure all governmental regulatory requirements are met at the branch, maintaining compliance and avoiding penalties.
  • Implement operational directives and communicate new policies, sales results, and critical information to all branch staff.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure operations meet customer service needs, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of Business Management or equivalent preferred.
  • Greater than five years related working experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications, and equipment as an asset.
  • Equipment repair and maintenance training is an asset.
