You'll directly oversee all commissary kitchen operations, while partnering with our Senior Director of Culinary Operations to build our food program into a true destination.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and consistency for all menu items.
  • Execute, test, and adjust recipes accordingly to meet our culinary standards.
  • Manage food cost, labor cost, and waste management to achieve set budgetary targets.
  • Source new vendors and products as needed to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Assist with operational logistics, receiving, and staff hiring/scheduling to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleaning systems in the back-of-house to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Demonstrate clean work habits and time management to meet our high standards.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic and build and maintain team morale to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Support the company's overall goals and objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional cooking experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity; culinary degree preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate and re-enforce basic and advanced culinary skills, and QC menu items as needed.
  • Proven record of managing, training, and motivating a diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience ordering and cultivating relationships with purveyors to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Strong inventory management and waste plan efficiency skills, with a proven track record of positive food cost and labor cost numbers.
  • Proficient computer skills, with working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Google Sheets a plus.
  • Department of Health Certification, plus Food Allergen and Food Safety Certified.
  • Bilingual (English + Spanish) is highly preferred.
