Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer specializing in Platform Management to enhance our skilled and diverse workforce. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) by ensuring the integrity of its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. A solid foundation in DevOps methodologies is essential for this role.

Remote Work - Candidates must be located in the DC Metro area for potential on-site requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and sustain the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Assess and analyze workloads operating in both public and private cloud settings.
  • Monitor system performance and throughput, establishing benchmarks for acceptable performance standards as new solutions are developed.
  • Focus on platform stability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Lead the architecture and deployment of the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and propose platform technologies to fulfill business requirements.
  • Configure and enhance platform components for optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Work with other IT departments to integrate platform solutions with current systems.
  • Implement monitoring systems to maintain platform health and performance.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve platform-related challenges.
  • Establish security protocols to safeguard the platform against potential threats.
  • Ensure platform adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for platform configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead the design and execution of Active Directory structures aligned with organizational needs.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory elements, including domains, forests, and trusts.
  • Oversee user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required; candidates must be eligible for a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in architecting and developing platform-based solutions, establishing throughput, and setting performance benchmarks.
  • Extensive experience in managing and applying DevOps principles.
  • Experience in evaluating and analyzing workloads in public and private cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in virtualization, storage, and enterprise backup solutions utilizing automation technologies.
  • Expertise in Active Directory technologies.
  • Familiarity with application streaming and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Current relevant Microsoft Certification: MCSE core infrastructure, with ongoing certification updates as credentials are retired.

Salary Range:

$112,000 - $179,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other factors.
