Key Responsibilities

Peraton is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer specializing in Platform Management to enhance our skilled and diverse workforce. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) by ensuring the integrity of its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. A strong foundation in DevOps methodologies is essential.

Remote position - Candidates must be located in the DC Metro area for potential on-site requirements.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Assess and analyze workloads operating in both public and private cloud environments.
  • Monitor system performance and throughput, establishing benchmarks for acceptable performance standards while new solutions are developed.
  • Focus on platform reliability, security, and scalability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the design and execution of the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and suggest platform technologies to fulfill business requirements.
  • Optimize platform components for enhanced performance and efficiency.
  • Work with other IT teams to integrate platform solutions with existing systems.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure platform health and performance.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues.
  • Establish security protocols to safeguard the platform against potential threats.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for the platform.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Active Directory structures according to organizational needs.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory components, including domains, forests, and trusts.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required; must be eligible to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in architecting and developing platform-based solutions, establishing throughput, and setting performance benchmarks.
  • Extensive experience managing and utilizing DevOps principles.
  • Experience in evaluating and analyzing workloads in public and private cloud environments.
  • Expertise in virtualization, storage, and enterprise backup solutions using automation technologies.
  • Proficient in Active Directory technologies.
  • Experience with application streaming and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Current relevant Microsoft Certification: MCSE core infrastructure with ongoing certification updates as credentials are retired.

Compensation Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
