Peraton is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer specializing in Platform Management to support critical operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the information technology (IT) infrastructure for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Remote Position - Candidates must be located in the DC Metro area for potential on-site requirements.

Daily Duties:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Assess and analyze workloads operating in both public and private cloud environments.
  • Monitor system performance and throughput, establishing benchmarks for acceptable performance standards while new solutions are developed.
  • Focus on platform reliability, security, and scalability in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the architecture and deployment of the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and suggest platform technologies that align with business objectives.
  • Optimize platform components for enhanced performance and efficiency.
  • Work with other IT departments to integrate platform solutions with existing systems.
  • Implement monitoring tools to ensure platform health and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve platform-related issues promptly.
  • Establish security protocols to safeguard the platform against potential threats.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding platform operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for platform configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead the design and deployment of Active Directory structures based on organizational needs.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory components, including domains, forests, and trusts.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship Required; must be eligible for a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in architecting and developing platform-based solutions, establishing throughput, and setting performance benchmarks.
  • Extensive experience managing and utilizing DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience in evaluating and analyzing workloads in public and private cloud settings.
  • Proficiency in virtualization, storage, and enterprise backup solutions utilizing automation technologies.
  • Expertise in Active Directory technologies.
  • Knowledge of application streaming and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Current relevant Microsoft Certification: MCSE core infrastructure with ongoing certification updates as credentials are retired.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
