About the Opportunity

The University of Cincinnati invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track chair position for the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly qualified individual to lead and foster the advancement of the Pharm.D. program, postgraduate education and training programs, and be responsible for recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention of faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership within the division with respect to scholarly activity and funding
  • Provide leadership within the division with respect to teaching
  • Provide leadership within the division with respect to service
  • Provide leadership within the division with respect to practice and practice advancement initiatives
  • Contribute to the academic and scholarly activity goals of the College
  • Participate in the school's professional curriculum, committee work, professional organizations, and attendance at seminars, conferences, and professional meetings
  • Meet the expectations of faculty members commensurate with requirements for promotion and tenure
  • Oversee the division's operational functions including budgetary requirements, as well as the entrepreneurial opportunities for the College
  • Conduct annual performance and teaching reviews of division faculty and staff in order to provide a fair and balanced assessment of the quality and of their activities
Requirements
  • Applicants must have an earned Pharm.D. and/or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent); prior residency or fellowship training and Board certification are desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.
  • Demonstrate evidence of effective teaching ability, commitment to student success, and service to the profession.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Must have outstanding writing skills to present research in written format.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
