About the Opportunity
The Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor Educator/Program Director to join our team. This is a 12-month per year Educator position with rank commensurate with Education and experience.
Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Magnetic Resonance Imaging program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, service, and scholarship to the Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences and College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS). This includes program directorship for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging accreditation, curriculum design, instruction, student evaluation, and academic advisement.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) anatomy, physiology, and pathology, MRI physics and instrumentation, MRI Safety, MRI sequences, parameters, and positioning, basic patient care skills, general knowledge of other imaging modules, and research methods.
- Develop and implement curriculum for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
- Provide academic advisement to students and coordinate with clinical coordinators and other faculty teaching in the program.
- Collaborate with the Department Chair and other departmental leaders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in program evaluation and accreditation tasks.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in a relevant health-related field.
- Master's degree in education or a health-related field from a regionally accredited or nationally accredited academic institution.
- Three years' clinical experience in the professional discipline.
- Two years' experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program.
- A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification and registration.
- Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology and educational learning systems.
- Strong organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills, including communication, problem solving, counseling, conflict management, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to take direction and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
- Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in education or health-related field from a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution.
- MRI Credential from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or Computed Tomography (CT).
