Position: Nurse Educator - Critical Care (Nights)

Key Responsibilities of the Critical Care Nurse Educator:

  • Deliver specialized clinical knowledge and serve as a mentor for nursing personnel.
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff, integrating relevant research findings into practice.
  • Evaluate the clinical competencies and educational needs of nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors to foster professional development among nursing personnel.
  • Contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures, and standards related to patient care.
  • Oversee staff education, including orientation, care standards, and competency assessments, alongside ongoing education and in-service training.
  • Design and implement a structured staff development program tailored to the clinical requirements of the nursing team.
  • Engage with other departments to facilitate educational initiatives and projects addressing current health issues for staff and the community.
  • Play an active role in planning, executing, and assessing continuing education and patient education programs, as well as other educational initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings to address evolving trends in patient care delivery.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and address knowledge gaps identified through monitoring processes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to Nursing Education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Critical Care RN.
  • Preferred experience in Leadership or Nursing Education.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates currently enrolled in an MSN program.
  • Licensure: Valid New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Certifications: CEN, TNCC; BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor certifications.

Salary Range: $107,250.00 to $128,700.00 per year.

This salary range serves as a good faith estimate, and actual compensation will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. The stated salary does not encompass differential pay or other forms of compensation that may apply to this position, nor does it reflect the value of benefits.
