Key Responsibilities of the Critical Care Nurse Educator:
- Deliver specialized clinical knowledge and serve as a mentor for nursing personnel.
- Act as a clinical resource, guiding staff in applying relevant research to practice.
- Evaluate the clinical competencies and educational needs of nursing staff.
- Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors to foster professional development among nursing staff.
- Contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures, and standards of care pertinent to clinical practice.
- Oversee staff education, including orientation, care standards, and ongoing professional development programs.
- Design and implement a structured staff development program tailored to the clinical requirements of the nursing team.
- Engage with other departments to support educational initiatives addressing current health challenges for staff and the community.
- Participate actively in the planning, execution, and assessment of continuing education and patient education initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental and interdisciplinary meetings to address evolving trends in patient care delivery.
- Engage in performance improvement projects and address knowledge gaps identified through monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to Nursing Education.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Critical Care RN.
- Experience in leadership or nursing education is preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred; candidates currently enrolled in an MSN program will be considered.
- Licensure: Valid New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is highly preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: CEN, TNCC; BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor certifications are advantageous.
Salary Range: $107,250.00 to $128,700.00 per year.
