Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Occupational Health Services team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting medical examinations and providing occupational health services to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and periodic reviews of worker medical and work history, laboratory findings, clinical findings, and physical assessments to facilitate fitness for duty evaluations.
  • Determine appropriate treatment plans for worker health problems for both occupational and non-occupational visits.
  • Conduct diagnostic and screening procedures, including spirometry, audiometry, and physical assessment, to support medical surveillance and work-related injury/illness.
  • Document all interactions and findings in our electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect personally identifiable information (PII) as specified by applicable regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in an accredited nurse practitioner program and 1 year of clinical nurse practitioner experience.
  • Colorado Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license and active Colorado Prescriptive Authority (RXN) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated and organized with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including ability to establish rapport with patients.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to establish relationships with employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Strong experience with electronic health records and computer applications.
