Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the care of pediatric orthopedic patients in the outpatient and urgent care settings, managing acute, chronic, surgical, and congenital conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform evaluative non-surgical consults, including pre-op exams, and therapeutic procedures such as fracture reduction, injections, and aspirations.
  • Take patient histories, make assessments, and develop plans of care based on sound medical judgment and research-based evidence.
  • Order, review, and evaluate laboratory reports and radiology studies.
  • Manage non-surgical orthopedic problems independently and surgical problems in association with the physician.
  • Provide care with the highest level of customer focus service with members, physicians, and staff.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • California state RN license and California Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • National Provider Identification Number (NPI) and Individual Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license issued by the United States DEA for Schedule II-V controlled substances.
  • BCLS and PALS certifications required.
  • National Certification from one of the following organizations: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Credentialing Center; National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses (recommended).
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work variable shift schedules, including some weekend days and rotating between Outpatient Clinic and Urgent Care Center. Must be flexible and able to adapt to rapid changes in pace, volume, and clinic coverage.
