Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wellnest Emotional Health & Wellness. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children, adolescents, and adults with mental health issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outpatient client care to children, adolescents, and adults with mental health issues
  • Collaborate with the psychiatrist to provide client assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and order laboratory tests
  • Provide patient education, prepare medical records, and refer patients for inpatient care as needed
  • Work collaboratively with a Medical Assistant to coordinate client care and assist with insurance pre-authorization and caseload management
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat children, adolescents, and adults experiencing chronic and episodic mental health disorders
  • Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Focus on Psychiatric Nursing or Mental Health required
  • Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
  • Minimum of one to two years of experience providing direct client care to individuals receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders
  • Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations
  • Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Active and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Active and current Nurse Practitioner medication furnishing number issued by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Active and current Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to navigate and document Electronic Health Records (EHR) independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Compensation and Benefits:
