Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Fast Pace Health is committed to delivering exceptional patient care in the field of orthopedics. We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions, utilizing their expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of injuries and illnesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose fractures using clinical evaluation and imaging studies.
  • Administer non-surgical fracture reductions.
  • Monitor and manage the healing process, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Perform joint aspirations to diagnose conditions such as joint effusions or infections.
  • Administer intra-articular injections for pain relief and inflammation reduction using ultrasound.
  • Apply casts, splints, or orthopedic bracing to stabilize and immobilize various musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Ensure proper alignment and immobilization of injured body parts.
  • Educate patients on cast care and potential complications.
  • Review and interpret X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other imaging studies.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and orthopedic surgeons to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Determine whether surgical or non-operative approaches are most appropriate.
  • Provide patients with detailed information about their orthopedic conditions.
  • Offer guidance on home exercises, physical therapy, and activity modifications.
  • Address patient questions and concerns, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and rehabilitation.
Requirements:
  • 1+ year of outpatient experience as an Orthopedic Provider (Family Nurse Practitioner/FNP/APRN)
  • 1+ year of experience with bracing, casting, splinting, and injections
