Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health

Job Summary:

The County of Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing exceptional mental health care services to our patients. As a Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, promote health and wellness, and support the recovery of individuals with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, including psychotropic medications, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and services.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the State of California.
  • Active certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Experience working in a psychiatric setting, preferably in a hospital or community mental health organization.
