Position SummaryThe Florida Construction Management Team at JMT is in search of a CEI Senior Project Engineer to oversee the management of our Construction Inspection operations within the designated region.
Key Responsibilities- Drive marketing and business development initiatives for transportation construction projects throughout central Florida.
- Oversee contract management, including invoicing, financial oversight, and overall project performance.
- Ensure project quality assurance and quality control in the assigned region.
- Lead internal JMT staff and manage subconsultants effectively.
- Engage in client presentations and foster strong client relationships.
- Prepare detailed technical and pricing proposals.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
- A minimum of six (6) years of engineering experience, with at least two (2) years focused on relevant transportation projects.
- For Complex Category 2 (CC2) and PTS bridge structures, five (5) years of experience is acceptable.
- A Master's Degree in Engineering may substitute for one (1) year of engineering experience.
- Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida.
- Ability to obtain endorsement in Florida within six months of Project Notice to Proceed if currently registered in another state.
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
- CTQP Quality Control Manager certification (successful completion of the examination required).
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Expertise in directing complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs.
- Strong planning and organizational skills for managing subordinate staff and operations.
- Proficient in developing and reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to assess programs for compliance with departmental standards.
The role is primarily office-based, involving sedentary tasks, though occasional fieldwork may be required in varying weather conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be necessary.
