Job Purpose:
The primary objective of the Apprenticeship Technical Educator role at ALPLA is to deliver extensive training for apprentices and ongoing education for current employees in areas such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pneumatics, and hydraulics. This includes the planning, organization, and execution of effective training programs aimed at enhancing technical skills and knowledge among participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement training sessions for apprentices and current staff, ensuring alignment with educational standards and organizational objectives.
  • Provide essential materials, machinery, and tools for practical training, fostering an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Create training documentation and resources, including manuals, presentations, and simulations, to aid instructional delivery.
  • Conduct training sessions that cover essential qualifications and technical skills, employing diverse teaching methods to engage participants.
  • Facilitate tutoring sessions to support apprentices' learning journeys, offering guidance and assistance as necessary.
  • Prepare apprentices for assessments through thorough review sessions and practice tests.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on departmental assessments, project work, and technical discussions to monitor trainees' progress.
  • Coordinate both internal and external training initiatives, collaborating with HR and other stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities.
  • Organize and lead guided tours and presentations for educational institutions to promote vocational training and attract future apprentices.
  • Engage in internal and external apprentice events, promoting networking and collaboration among trainees and industry professionals.
  • Support the recruitment of future apprentices by advocating for apprenticeship programs and conducting informational sessions.
Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Prior experience in a technical training capacity, particularly in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pneumatics, and hydraulics, is preferred but not essential.
  • A background in the maintenance of mechatronic systems or machinery is highly desirable.
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and training program management is advantageous.
Skills:
  • Completion of technical education in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Certification in trainer education from the Corporate Academy or equivalent.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in IT tools and software for developing and delivering training materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth to remain informed on industry trends and best practices.

Job Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training-related assignments and events.
  • Ability to adapt training methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organize and prioritize tasks effectively to achieve training goals and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create engaging and effective training programs.
