Qualifications
  • Current RN License
  • Degree from an accredited nursing institution
  • BLS & ACLS Certifications
  • Minimum of eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Oncology environment
  • Additional requirements may be specified by the client facility

Key Responsibilities

The Oncology RN will provide care for patients with critical or chronic cancer conditions. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, implementing innovative symptom management strategies, and monitoring patient progress. Oncology nurses also foster a supportive environment and may choose to specialize in areas such as pediatric hematology/oncology or breast cancer.

  • Deliver care for cancer patients at various stages of their conditions, primarily focusing on the acute phase.
  • Assist patients, from post-surgical to near-terminal, in effectively managing their disease and treatment, including the administration of chemotherapy.
  • Educate patients about treatment options, procedures, and the specifics of their condition.
