Job Overview

The Senior Tax Consultant is pivotal in overseeing tax compliance and reporting within the organization. This role is essential for ensuring that tax returns are accurately prepared to optimize tax liabilities. The consultant will also engage in strategic tax planning for future obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support private sector clients in achieving their financial objectives through comprehensive tax and advisory services.
  • Guarantee that a company’s annual financial activities, including income and expenditures, are documented with precision and thoroughness.
  • Coordinate and prepare state and federal tax returns for various entities.
  • Analyze and interpret the U.S. tax legislation.
  • Investigate the ramifications of tax regulations and provide guidance to clients on tax-related matters.
  • Assist in mitigating tax risks linked to mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Monitor income and property tax obligations.
  • Develop and implement tax-saving strategies.
  • Ensure reconciliation of tax data with financial statements.
  • Lead, manage, and execute a variety of tax-related projects.
  • Conduct research and draft technical tax memoranda.
  • Guide, develop, and mentor team members on various projects, providing performance evaluations through formal and informal feedback.
  • Oversee intricate tax research initiatives for clients across diverse sectors.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
  • Minimum of seven years of recent experience in public accounting and management.
  • Must hold a valid CPA license.
  • Exhibits a service-oriented and results-driven mindset, embracing structure and processes.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical guidelines, or governmental regulations.
  • Capacity to think beyond traditional accounting and grasp client challenges and aspirations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Adept at multitasking in a dynamic environment with various deadlines.
  • Possesses strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A collaborative team player who is respectful, approachable, and positive.
  • Proficient in technical skills, including knowledge of ProSystem fx Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and communication skills with clients and colleagues.
