Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to effectively carry out the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Draft and evaluate financial statements and management letters with minimal oversight
  • Assess work papers on engagements prepared by audit personnel
  • Exhibit proficiency in technical abilities, quality of work, and adherence to professional and firm standards
  • Identify weaknesses in internal controls and provide management recommendations
  • Create clear and organized work papers and documentation for all assignments
  • Supervise multiple team members and contribute to their professional development
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve complex client issues, applying knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, and researching significant matters
  • Foster relationships with clients and community contacts to support the firm's business development efforts
  • Mentor and train junior accountants, including preparing performance evaluations upon engagement completion.
  • Assist managers and partners with various additional projects
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification required or in progress
  • Prior experience as a senior or in-charge accountant in a public accounting environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented approach
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Preferred familiarity with ProSystem Engagement, ProSystem Tax, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Limited overnight travel required
