Job Title: Public Affairs Coordinator, World Trade Center Health Registry

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Public Affairs Coordinator to join our team at the World Trade Center Health Registry (WTCHR). The successful candidate will assist in maintaining and increasing engagement with our enrollee base, which includes a diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and preferred languages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate multiple communications projects, including maintaining an updated communications calendar and monitoring workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist the Registry research team in translating findings into practical resources for uptake amongst enrollees, the public, and healthcare providers.
  • Develop content for Registry communication assets, such as research videos, testimonial videos, newsletters, health handouts, and social media tweets.
  • Monitor traffic to our website, open and click-through rates on our e-Newsletters, and mentions and citations of our research papers using Google Analytics and Altmetrics.
  • Support the development and implementation of a new framework to measure the impact of the Registry.
  • Monitor scientific advancements from diverse media and scientific outlets and compile a weekly feed for Registry staff to stay apprised of the latest advances in science-related areas of work.
  • Participate in planning, recruitment, and implementation of focus groups with Registry enrollees to improve the quality of Registry communication assets.
Requirements:
  • A master's degree in journalism or public relations from an accredited college, or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in public relations, journalism, or advertising.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and GANNT charts, and proficiency in a second language (Spanish or Chinese).
  • Experience with focus groups and interviews.
