About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Growth Consultant to lead and support the strategic growth initiatives for our business units through the Operation & Execution (O&E) Model governance.

As a Strategic Growth Consultant, you will partner with numerous functional areas to support strategy development and the O&E Model governance. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Actively supporting the Enterprise O&E Model governance process.
  • Working with business unit leadership to define strategic growth initiatives through the O&E Annual Reviews and OIA development & maintenance.
  • Understanding, following, and providing process improvements to the O&E Model with responsibility of updating OIA reference guides, O&E Playbook, and O&E Model training materials.
  • Composing professional, succinct reports; developing executive summaries and perspectives for senior leadership.
  • Assisting and leading ad hoc process improvement projects throughout ESD and Caterpillar Business Units.

What you will bring:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Demonstrated experience in accounting/finance/business roles with increasing responsibility.
  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of 'big picture' thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Excellent business acumen and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to maintain an Enterprise focus.
  • Proven positive results in customer service and business partnering.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and PowerBI.
  • CPA, CMA, or any accounting & finance related certification.

Additional Information:

  • This role is a full-time position and currently requires 3 days a week in the office.
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.
