Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Traffic Control Flagger to join our team at Area Wide Protective (AWP). As a traffic safety professional, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our clients' people, businesses, and time by providing comprehensive traffic management services.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up barricades, cones, and related signage to create a safe work environment for our partners in the work zone.
• Transport equipment and personnel to designated work zones, ensuring a safe and efficient setup.
• Document and communicate with dispatch, operations, and customers regarding equipment usage and setup locations.
• Maintain job sites and equipment to ensure high-quality set-ups and adhere to The Trafficade Way.
• Read and understand specific plans and instructions to exceed customer expectations.
• Make field adjustments and corrections to ensure project safety for customers, municipalities, motorists, and pedestrians.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle/equipment inspections.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and possess necessary skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

As a Certified Traffic Control Flagger, you will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to:
• Live traffic on roadways.
• Moving equipment at a rapid pace to establish work zones efficiently.
• Various weather conditions, including extreme heat.
• Loud noises.
• Pedestrian traffic.
• Demanding customers, inspectors, and others involved in the work zone.
• Constant physical activity, including entering and exiting vehicles, climbing onto flatbeds, twisting, and bending.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly and move/travel long distances within work zones.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills to understand specific needs in the work zone.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, plans, and maps of work zone locations.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Excellent attendance and dependable transportation required.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
• No experience necessary; training and development will be provided.

Additional Information

Minimum requirements:
• Valid AZ Driver's License with a motor vehicle report meeting company guidelines.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Good communication skills.
