Job Title: Jr. Estimator/Planner

At Area Wide Protective (AWP), we are seeking a highly skilled Jr. Estimator/Planner to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will play a crucial role in building quality relationships with clients and securing profitable business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and clarify proposals to ensure accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Negotiate projects and complete estimates, including bid documents and determining project scope.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Department to ensure the accuracy of quotes and prospect for business opportunities.
  • Build estimates for clients through direct requests from customers, CSR's, planners, or anyone involved with our daily operations.
  • Track and manage estimates in SharePoint, TCR, and/or estimating spreadsheet.
  • Ensure estimates are completed in compliance with local, state, and Federal MUTCD requirements and allowed set-up approvals.
  • Analyze all available information to compile into a proposal estimate.
  • Attend external pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work.
  • Determine key variables for cost, labor, equipment, and other estimates.
  • Complete estimates including bid documents, determining the project's scope, deration of the project, phasing, and evaluating special conditions affecting the proposal.
Requirements:
  • Proficient literacy and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of traffic control and AWP Safety products.
