Job Summary

Columbia University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Appointments Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Columbia policies and regulations set forth by the Provost Office, ISSO, EOAA, and other university divisions within the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Affairs: Develops, disseminates, and maintains all checklists and standard operating procedures for the processing of personnel transactions at SEAS via PAC Template Based Hire (TBH), Nomination Form, Personnel Action Form (PAF), e-Term, and Rosters.
  • Short-Term Visitors: Reviews the materials submitted by each SEAS department for approval by the Provost office and works closely with the Executive Director of Academic Appointments and Faculty Affairs on policy implementation for short-term visitors and compliance with university policies and federal regulations.
  • Data Management: Analyzes data and compiles regular and ad hoc reports from PAC HR Manager Reports, SEAS HR databases, and other sources, and develops and maintains tools (databases/spreadsheets) for tracking and reporting academic affairs-related activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent in working with administrative processes or a combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Academic Affairs, Faculty Affairs, and/or Human Resources.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex administrative processes and training.
