Job Title: Patient Care Technician

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a licensed nurse or other licensed professional staff, you will perform a variety of tasks and procedures to provide direct and indirect care to patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with recreational and rehabilitation activities, preparing patients for meals and examinations, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with recreational and rehabilitation activities to meet the assessed needs, interests, and capabilities of patients.
  • Prepare patients for meals and examinations, including taking vital signs and performing assigned procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including changing linen, making beds, and disposing of waste.
  • Assist with the care and storage of patients' clothing and property, and sterilize clothing and other personal items as required.
  • Report observations of patients' and families' condition, mental state, and social behavior to medical and professional staff.
  • Assist with clinic, admission procedures, and regulation of visitors.
  • Escort ambulatory patients and transport non-ambulatory patients to all departments, clinics, and diagnostic and therapeutic units.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from elementary school.
  • Successful completion of a basic skill training program for Nurse's Aides, or its equivalent.
  • New York State Nurse's Aide Certificate (required for assignment to a long-term care facility).
