Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as the Assistant Director of Compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing contract and grant accounts, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and university regulations, managing audits, and developing training materials. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of our Engineering Research Centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract and Grant Oversight: Manage and administer all contract and grant accounts, including ledger accounts and gift processing for major centers.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to Conflicts of Interest, Notices of Intent, and Responsible Conduct of Research, collaborating with relevant compliance offices as necessary.
  • Audit Coordination: Supervise annual audits of financial accounts, conduct site visits, and prepare comprehensive reports for the Director of Research Administration.
  • Salary Redistribution Management: Oversee the retroactive salary redistribution process, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • External Reporting: Work alongside the Director to prepare external reports, involving data collection and analysis for various agencies.
  • Training Development: Design and deliver training sessions tailored to the needs of departments and centers.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, along with relevant professional experience in accounting, including supervisory roles. Expertise in research administration and financial management is essential, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in various software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale research initiatives and NSF-funded projects.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training content.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Two years of experience in an accounting-related role.
