AECOM is looking for an Assistant Project Manager for Railroad Utilities.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Utilities Project Manager and the Senior Project Manager, this role is responsible for facilitating utility operations among clients, design teams, and external utility providers. The individual will engage in resolving utility and railroad-related challenges, compile progress reports, and maintain project tracking systems to address utility or railroad requirements effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, and external utility providers, participate in meetings, and assess project documentation.
- Identify and report utility or railroad issues and assist in their resolution.
- Generate progress reports and maintain a log for tracking issues and their resolutions.
- Draft technical communications and comprehensive reports; accurately analyze situations and implement effective strategies; set project objectives and goals.
- Establish and nurture productive relationships with external utility providers or railroads.
- Work alongside clients and design teams to prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with client objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Engineering, Business, or Law, along with experience in the utility or railroad sector.
- Experience in developing and assessing alternative route studies.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage extensive data sets and effectively communicate insights.
- Experience in evaluating utility or railroad designs for compliance with relevant standards and land rights.
- Familiarity with utility relocation guidelines and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders.
- Ability to identify potential land rights conflicts that may impact project timelines.
- Basic understanding of land surveying principles and proficiency in interpreting legal descriptions.
- Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Power BI, and scheduling tools.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Travel may be a requirement for this position.
