Responsibilities:
  • Teach adult learners in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies, and computer literacy.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for adult learners.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback.
  • Work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop and implement programs for adult learners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Adult Education, or Developmental Education.
  • One year of teaching experience in GED preparation or developmental education.
  • Experience teaching in a corrections education or alternative education program.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Education, Adult Education, or Developmental Education.
  • Experience teaching in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and online.
  • Knowledge of Oregon Learning Standards.
  • Teaching experience with adults with limited English proficiency.
