Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Adult Education Instructor to teach adult learners in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies, and computer literacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult education, experience teaching in a corrections education or alternative education program, and the ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Responsibilities:- Teach adult learners in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies, and computer literacy.
- Develop and implement curriculum for adult learners.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop and implement programs for adult learners.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Adult Education, or Developmental Education.
- One year of teaching experience in GED preparation or developmental education.
- Experience teaching in a corrections education or alternative education program.
- Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Master's degree in Education, Adult Education, or Developmental Education.
- Experience teaching in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and online.
- Knowledge of Oregon Learning Standards.
- Teaching experience with adults with limited English proficiency.
