Adult Hospitalist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a full-time Adult Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the growth of our Discharge Ready Unit (DRU) at Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital medicine and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
The APP in the DRU will be responsible for rounding on patients, handling discharges and internal transfers, and working collaboratively with a robust support team including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. This is a 7 on/7 off work schedule with 12-hour shifts, providing a great work-life balance. The DRU is a closed ICU, with excellent rapid response team and collaborative ER colleagues, so you will not have to run codes or take on any procedure/vent-management responsibilities.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a master's degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing. You will also need to have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing, and hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon. Additionally, you will need to hold a current, unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing, and hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body. You will also need to hold DEA certification and have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.
