Job Summary

As an Operations Support Specialist at NiSource, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our pipeline systems. This position requires a strong understanding of pipeline safety regulations and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Operations Initiatives: Collaborate with the Operations team to identify and implement process improvements that enhance pipeline safety and efficiency.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant pipeline safety regulations, including DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations 192, and maintain accurate records of compliance activities.
  • Field Operations Coordination: Provide support to field operations personnel, including training and guidance on pipeline safety procedures and protocols.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and company affiliates.
  • Project Management: Assist in the development and implementation of projects related to pipeline safety and compliance, including the development of project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit regular reports to internal stakeholders on pipeline safety and compliance activities, including analysis of data and trends.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, safety, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in pipeline operations or a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of pipeline safety regulations, including DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations 192, and experience with compliance and regulatory management. Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field, experience with direct interface in providing support to Public Utilities Commission audits and inquiries, and experience with the effective delivery of training or evaluation programs.
