Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, and update demographic and insurance information as needed.
  • Collect and post patient co-payments and outstanding balances, and generate and track patient encounter forms.
  • Maintain accurate records, make daily cash deposits, and respond to patient care-related telephone calls.
  • Identify and prioritize patient needs, and respond to emergency situations by contacting physicians or providers as needed.
  • Resolve patient questions and concerns regarding clinic schedules and billing, and handle requests for prescription refills and appointment rescheduling.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience and 1+ year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and maintain regular attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialized medical secretarial or medical office training.
  • Previous pediatrics experience.
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to multitask and resolve patient concerns in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
