Business Development Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Officer to join our team at the Economic Development Corporation of KC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development in Kansas City, Missouri.
Key Responsibilities- Contact and build relationships with Kansas City companies to determine their needs for local, regional, or state assistance.
- Partner with local industry associations to improve industry competitiveness and promote a favorable business climate in Kansas City.
- Promote and coordinate the use of local and state business incentives to aid in business expansion and recruitment.
- Coordinate with strategic partners, including the Kansas City Area Development Council and Missouri Department of Economic Development, to support business retention, growth, and recruitment efforts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and leverage additional resources beyond standard incentives.
- Strong writing skills and basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite, budgeting, and financial principles.
- Sales knowledge and project management skills.
