HR Operations Specialist

Position Overview:
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the local HR team for designated location(s) or functional area. This position involves the management of employee records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, facilitating training, conducting interviews, and engaging in various special projects. The HR Generalist is responsible for providing guidance and interpretation of HR policies to employees and offers essential HR support in the daily management of the workforce. Additionally, this role is pivotal in supporting HR compliance initiatives to mitigate legal risks and ensure adherence to legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and implement HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance and talent management, recognition, employee engagement, health and safety, and HR training.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with employees across all levels of the organization, from frontline staff to senior management, depending on the assigned location(s).
- Provide cross-functional HR support to various departments as required based on the assigned location(s) or functional area.
- Address and resolve basic to complex issues by utilizing HR expertise, business acumen, and employee relationships.
- Refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate resources as necessary.
- Engage in HR Workstream projects, community outreach initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, investigations, and exit interviews.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations by reviewing policies and practices, recommending best practices as needed.
- Stay informed about HR trends, employment laws, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
- Support employees represented by a union, if applicable.
- Maintain an understanding of collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.
- Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
