Position Overview:
The Veterans Affairs Health Administration is seeking a dedicated Clinical Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Food Services team. This role is essential in the TeleMOVE Dietitian capacity within the MOVE Weight Management Program, contributing to both clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
The VA Midwest Health Care Network is committed to a Whole Health System of care across its Medical Centers. This model emphasizes empowering individuals to take control of their health and wellness, ensuring they can lead fulfilling lives.

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a pivotal role in developing personalized health plans for Veterans, focusing on:

  • Conducting thorough nutrition assessments utilizing the Nutritional Care Process (NCP) to identify nutrition diagnoses and assess malnutrition risks.
  • Implementing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) tailored to individual needs, monitoring and adjusting interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Calculating dietary requirements and customizing diet plans to accommodate individual health conditions and medication interactions.
  • Documenting MNT interventions in medical records following the Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring, Evaluation (ADIME) framework.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance nutritional care and the overall dining experience for Veterans.
  • Providing nutrition education and counseling tailored to the needs of individuals and groups.
  • Utilizing virtual care technologies to improve access to nutritional services.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, Administrative Hours.

Telework:
Regular telework opportunities available.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and proficient in English. A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required. Candidates must also meet specific educational and experiential criteria as outlined in the job requirements.

Physical Requirements:
Participation in a pre-employment examination may be required.
