Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to become a vital member of our team within the Department of Pathology. This position entails executing intricate clinical laboratory evaluations on biological samples to assist in the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of various health conditions. Candidates with expertise in microbiological analysis are particularly encouraged to consider this opportunity.

  • Detect and analyze pathogenic microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi
  • Conduct DNA probe assessments for Mycobacteria
  • Manage blood culture processing and perform advanced antimicrobial susceptibility evaluations
  • Isolate and characterize viral entities
  • Implement specialized typing procedures for organisms

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role with an option to work on weekends, specifically Friday and Saturday. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus based on their experience.

Qualifications:

For Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT):
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred
  • Experience in microbiological testing is advantageous
For Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS):
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 6 months to 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist is mandatory
