Fairview Health Services is excited to present a distinctive chance for you to join our expanding team by obtaining a CNA certification and securing a position as a Nursing Assistant at one of our healthcare facilities.
We will cover the expenses associated with the CNA training, state NA examination, and offer you a wage while you complete the 75-hour hybrid CNA course.
The Nursing Assistant training consists of both online and in-person components, facilitated by LeadingAge MN-OnTrack CNA training, supported by Edu Care.While the theoretical part is conducted online, our experienced NA educator will assist you throughout this blended learning experience.
The program culminates with hands-on CNA skills training at the hospital site where you wish to work. Participants selected for this CNA program are expected to adhere to the course schedule and successfully complete Fairview Health Services' nursing assistant training (subject to your class start date).During the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training:
Participants must be available Monday through Friday, committing to 40 hours per week while enrolled in the program.
Compensation is set at $18.00/hour.
Clinical Training Locations:
Designated hospital department of your choice.
In-person skills assessment and testing will occur at our facilities.
Post-Completion of the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training:
Compensation will align with the current Nursing Assistant wage in the assigned hospital unit.
Upon successful completion of the CNA course, you will transition immediately into a Nursing Assistant role within the Fairview Health Services network. Specific details regarding your CNA job location, shifts, and hours will be discussed during the initial recruitment interview and outlined in the final job offer.
Various shifts are available: day, evening, and night.
Weekend shifts are required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) along with holiday rotations.
Eligible for benefits at 48 hours per pay period, which includes medical, dental, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement options, and more.
Applicants must be willing to commit to employment with Fairview Health Services for a minimum of one year following the start date.
To be considered, applicants must attend and complete all training sessions and coursework.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists patients according to their individualized care plans with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and responding to call lights.
Under the supervision of a nurse, may perform glucose monitoring, administer medications, and check vital signs including temperature and blood pressure.
Observes patients and communicates their status to the appropriate healthcare staff clearly and concisely.
Documents patient status in the electronic medical record system.
Maintains order and cleanliness in patient rooms and work areas, reports any malfunctioning equipment to maintenance, and answers phone calls promptly.
Assists in lifting and transferring patients, utilizing mechanical lifts when necessary.
To be considered, applicants must attend and complete all training sessions and coursework.
The program consists of a minimum of 75 hours, combining online training, in-person skills training/testing, and clinical days on the unit where you are hired.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Must be able to commit to Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week while enrolled in the OnTrack program.
Must accept a nursing assistant position at one of Fairview Health Services' facilities.
Completion and passing of Fairview Health Services' Nursing Assistant Course (dependent on start date).
Must be proficient in using computers to complete online coursework from home and utilize educational software.
Must be willing to commit to employment with Fairview Health Services for at least one year following the start date.
If currently employed by Fairview or Ebenezer, must have a satisfactory performance record and have been in the current position for at least six months.
Must obtain BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association prior to the start of the OnTrack program.
