About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Lead to join our team at Minnesota Careers. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of an effective cleaning program on our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide lead work, direction, and training to maintenance staff and client workers on standard cleaning procedures
  • Perform housekeeping, sanitation, and building services lead work, while providing supervision, direction, and assistance to client workers, to maintain a safe, sanitary, and aesthetically sound environment
  • Maintain tools and equipment and make minor repairs to ensure they are kept serviceable and in good working order
  • Estimate materials, supplies, and equipment needs for the annual budget and maintain an accurate inventory of supplies within the work site for daily assigned duties and for special projects
Requirements
  • A High School diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have the following:
  • Knowledge of principles of lead work sufficient to plan, lead, and provide training to departmental staff
  • Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment
  • Cleaning supplies, chemicals, and possible chemical reactions
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment involved in light maintenance (i.e., carpentry, painting, simple machine repairs)
  • Basic computer and e-mail usage, plus word processing, database, and spreadsheet software sufficient to maintain electronic records and complete reports
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing housekeeping or janitorial work within a large complex
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
