Recreation Fee Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Recreation Fee Technician to join our team at the National Park Service. As a Recreation Fee Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting fees and providing excellent customer service to visitors at our park entrance stations, campgrounds, and other facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect fees from visitors and process transactions using a cash register or point-of-sale system
- Provide information to visitors about park rules, regulations, and recreational opportunities
- Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions
- Perform opening and closing functions, including counting funds and preparing remittance reports
- Issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, and other documents as needed
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve park goals and objectives
This position typically works at an entrance station, campground office, fee office, remit office, visitor center, and/or visitor contact station. Work is often performed in small, outdoor structures with open windows, which results in exposure to extremes of temperature, rain, snow, wind, and direct sunlight.
Requirements- U.S. Citizenship required
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
- Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required
- Valid driver's license required
To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications:
- At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service
- Successful completion of 4 years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
