PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the onboarding process, which includes receiving requests from site managers, coordinating union referrals, and organizing orientation sessions for new employees.
- Supports the recruitment of candidates for vacant roles by collaborating with hiring supervisors and conducting preliminary interviews.
- Represents the company at college career fairs to attract potential talent.
- Arranges necessary pre-employment screenings such as drug tests, motor vehicle record checks, and background investigations.
- Conducts E-Verify checks for all new hires to ensure compliance.
- Manages unemployment claims, addressing filed claims and participating in hearings as required.
- Orders and maintains supplies of company business cards.
- Prepares comprehensive new hire packets (for both union and non-union employees) and ensures that all company forms are updated and readily available.
- Reports new hires bi-monthly on the designated reporting platform.
- Keeps meticulous and current human resources files, records, and documentation.
- Acts as the initial point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, directing more complex issues to senior HR personnel.
- Ensures the confidentiality and integrity of all human resources records.
- Conducts regular audits of HR documentation to confirm that all necessary paperwork is collected and properly filed.
- Assists with payroll processes, including tax processing and filing.
- Helps in the preparation of weekly certified payroll submissions.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
- MUST be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Associate's degree in a relevant field with entry-level experience in human resources.
- Must exhibit outstanding judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
- Familiarity with union labor agreements is advantageous.
- Experience with UltiPro (UKG) and LCPtracker is a plus.
Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are mandatory.
