About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is a leading national field organization dedicated to partnering with groups that address critical societal challenges, from advocating for human rights to combating climate change. Our success is rooted in our commitment to building diverse teams of skilled individuals, investing in their development, and fostering a supportive work environment.

We are currently seeking experienced Lead & Deputy Directors to oversee our operations. The Deputy Field Directors will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of local canvassers. These directors will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling an office from the ground up. All directors are expected to lead by example in the field, communicate both short-term and long-term objectives to their teams, and manage campaign reporting effectively. The Deputy Directors will supervise field staff and Team Leads, reporting directly to the Lead Director.

Our organization is committed to empowering immigrant and worker-led initiatives that advocate for rights through community organizing and direct action. The campaign aims to engage voters within the Latine community, identify key issues, educate constituents, and mobilize enthusiastic voters for upcoming elections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 30-45 hourly staff conducting voter outreach in the community.
  • Establish goals and ensure accountability among team members.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to enhance team performance.
  • Identify and cultivate a leadership team within the staff.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that values respect and equity.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the integrity of outreach efforts.
  • Engage in fieldwork several days a week to register voters and train staff.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all team members.
  • Develop strategic plans to effectively reach registered voters in designated areas.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including data reporting, record-keeping, payroll processing, and material distribution.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire a large team.
  • Willingness to lead from the front and canvass regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to instill this quality in others.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for community organizing and promoting civic engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing paid canvassing efforts or employees.
  • Familiarity with voter outreach tools.
  • Background in working with underserved or marginalized communities.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Local knowledge and experience.
