Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to manage the flow of materials and supplies within our organization. This role is essential for ensuring that all items are received, stored, and distributed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Material Management: Execute manual and administrative tasks associated with the shipping, receiving, inspection, storage, and delivery of various materials and supplies.
  2. Inventory Control: Accurately count, weigh, or measure incoming and outgoing items to verify their identity and quantity against relevant documentation. Address any discrepancies or damages with suppliers as necessary.
  3. Equipment Operation: Utilize material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport and organize stock effectively.
  4. Order Fulfillment: Process orders and distribute materials according to requests, ensuring proper documentation and inventory records are maintained.
  5. Maintenance: Conduct minor repairs on equipment and stock items as needed.
  6. System Utilization: Leverage computerized systems to streamline operations and maintain accurate records.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality.
  2. Collaborate effectively within a team environment, fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  3. Exhibit strong communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and negotiate effectively.
  4. Follow directions from supervisors and management respectfully.
  5. Conduct regular inventory audits and assist in annual physical inventory counts.
  6. Maintain organized and efficient storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and stock management.
  7. Operate necessary vehicles and equipment to handle materials safely.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of one year in material handling or shipping/receiving is preferred.

Education: High school diploma or GED, along with relevant experience or training.

Certifications: Forklift certification is required.

Skills Required:

Language Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting documents.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and operating machinery.

Work Environment:

Work will be conducted in both outdoor and shop environments.
