Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for performing general repairs and preventative maintenance activities to support facility operations. This role requires a strong background in mechanical maintenance, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and execute work in a timely manner to meet facility operations requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with planners and operators to schedule daily work activities.
  • Assist in the field verification of piping and structural systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Read and understand ISO metric drawings and P&IDs/PDD to inform maintenance activities.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, as well as safety regulations, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in the respiratory protection program to maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance activities on utility systems, buildings, piping, vessels, and equipment as required.
  • Inspect and repair mechanical problems as required to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspection and maintenance activities to inform future maintenance planning.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Make recommendations to modify or replace equipment to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding to support maintenance activities.
  • Fabricate, install, and remove components of mechanical insulation and sheet metal to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Fabricate and install blankets for valves and flanges to prevent damage and ensure efficient maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned to support facility operations and maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the arctic environment and in the oil and gas industry.

About Working on the North Slope

While working on the North Slope, your lodging and food will be provided to you. Our camps offer warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying, but most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.

A pre-hire post-offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to safely perform to the job standard. Work Environment

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:

  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position, including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
