About the Role

Ryder Systems is seeking a highly skilled Freight Brokerage Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with our customers and transportation providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement carrier coverage strategies to maximize customer freight portfolio penetration.
  • Lead a small team of SMA's as a mentor, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Tender, accept, and reject loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, track, and trace loads, and resolve issues with carriers and customers.
  • Negotiate rates with transportation providers to ensure margins are achieved for commission targets and account goals.
  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in business-related roles, with a focus on logistics or transportation.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment and ability to lead/manage others.
