Overview
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing Loss Prevention activities related to the identification, apprehension, and processing of shoplifters.

Diligently exemplify what it means to be an employee owner who makes sound business decisions aimed at minimizing loss and safeguarding company profits. Assist store management in maintaining a secure environment for customers, vendors, and employees. Provide a professional presence aimed at de-escalating situations that may arise within the store. Collaborate with internal Loss Prevention staff on various investigations. Perform related duties as assigned.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment in a fast-paced retail environment. Identify, apprehend, and process shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws/regulations. Contribute to the safe resolution of concerning situations within the store using verbal de-escalation techniques paired with a professional demeanor. Prepare and submit reports involving investigations and Loss Prevention (LP) matters. Research and archive general liability incidents via C.C.T.V. Participate in internal company investigations. Testify at legal and court proceedings on behalf of the company. Collaborate with local, state, and government agencies regarding company matters. Participate in the maintenance of loss prevention and safety programs. Conduct loss prevention audits. Identify, investigate, and report hazardous workplace incidents and issues. Provide store support by promoting loss prevention and safety awareness. Deliver LP training to store staff. Maintain the loss prevention office and equipment to established standards. Identify, troubleshoot, and report issues with C.C.T.V. equipment.

Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:
Recognizing the criteria to determine what constitutes shoplifting. Demonstrating excellent judgment when responding to challenging situations or individuals. Providing outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a work setting. Documenting work and customer service activities. Applying strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrating initiative and self-direction. Working effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to:
Consistently deliver friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers. Perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment with limited immediate supervision. Work 10-12 hour shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Develop proficiency with WinCo's C.C.T.V. equipment, locks, and door hardware. Sit for extended periods. Execute all tasks efficiently and accurately with confidentiality, honesty, and integrity. Obtain State or Local certifications as required. Wear provided personal protective equipment such as gloves and protective vests. Travel daily within a defined geographic area to assigned locations. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old

Machines and Equipment Operated:
Office machines (computer terminal, copier/scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone, etc.). C.T.V., DVR, and digital camera equipment.
