Position Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Staff Accountant to enhance our aerospace manufacturing division. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining precise financial records, aiding in the preparation of financial statements, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This position demands a solid grasp of accounting principles, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and expense allocations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy of financial data.
- Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor accounts receivable, process customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with cost accounting tasks, including inventory valuation and variance reporting.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand cost drivers and support cost control initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analytical support.
- Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in implementing audit recommendations and enhancing internal controls.
- Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Participate in special projects and process improvements as required.
- Provide financial analysis for ad-hoc requests from management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Office-based role with regular interaction across departments.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak periods.
