Position Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Staff Accountant to enhance our aerospace manufacturing division. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining precise financial records, aiding in the preparation of financial statements, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This position demands a solid grasp of accounting principles, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and expense allocations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy of financial data.
  • Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, process customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with cost accounting tasks, including inventory valuation and variance reporting.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand cost drivers and support cost control initiatives.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analytical support.
  • Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in implementing audit recommendations and enhancing internal controls.
  • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvements as required.
  • Provide financial analysis for ad-hoc requests from management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Office-based role with regular interaction across departments.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods.
